Giving the Gift of VoIP to Art San Diego's Contemporary Art Fair

Written by Tristan Barnum | Sep 09, 2011
This past Labor Day weekend, San Diego held its largest annual art fair, organized by Art San Diego. Inaugurated in 2009, Art San Diego’s Contemporary Art Fair boasts more than 50 galleries showcasing 2,000+ artworks, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, videos, and cutting-edge multimedia, as well as city-wide cultural programs, special guest speakers, and exclusive events.

Last year, the fair did not have a phone service provider on the premises. So, our team over at Voxox In Business, the division that provides VoIP phone solutions for small and medium-sized companies, couldn’t stand by without jumping in to help, and donated hosted VoIP phone services and equipment for the organization to use during the fair.

What’s really nice about “hosted” VoIP is that it’s ideal for events like this one because it’s highly mobile. You basically get an entire business phone system without having to buy big, bulky, expensive phone equipment— all you really need are special “IP” desk phones, which can be moved around and plugged in anywhere worldwide, wherever there is an Internet connection. Super convenient.

According to event staff, having a dedicated phone line for the event was a fantastic tool. The call quality was excellent, the phone was really easy-to-use, and guests were very pleased to utilize this customer service tool. As far as the event itself, well, it went off without a hitch! Exhibitors and attendees came from all over the world to participate in the fair, and everyone was pleased by the caliber of the artwork. The range of mediums, sizes, genres, and styles on display was impressive. We are excited to have been a part of this event, and to be able to support the local art community on the whole.
