Memorial Day is the kick off to summer -- a long weekend that comes just in time for us to soak up some sun after the cold winter months. Some people BBQ, some get to the beach, and others travel. No matter what your plans are this year, we hope you have a great weekend!

We kicked off 2011 with the launch of a fresh new look for our Voxox brand, including our new logo, Voxox UI redesign and a new Voxox.com. It's all been very well received, and now, in line with our new brand direction, we're giving a new homepage a try. It's very cool with new graphics, interactive elements and a whole lotta love from the marketing team. But more than that, we chose to use real Voxox team members and their friends in order to give a more authentic appeal to our web site and marketing materials.

Today is National Bike to Work Day and it turns out our team wasn't bluffing when they said they were going to dust off their helmets and cruise to work. Let's give a round of applause for our hardcore Voxox team members who somehow survived that killer hill up to the office!

Are you ever jealous of those pedal bikers who cruise by you on your way to work while you're sitting in traffic? Then tomorrow is your "no excuses" day to join them and avoid the traffic jam because it's National Bike to Work Day! National Bike to Work Day encourages people to try bicycle commuting as a healthy and safe alternative to driving.

I’ve been using our first iPhone app --Voxox Call-- for a little while now, and wanted to share how useful it is for me personally.

My dad currently lives in Serbia, which is 9 hours ahead of where I live.  I like to chat with him every 2 weeks or so but I previously had a hard time coordinating a time to call him.  My issue was that I do not have the time to call him during the day at work and when I get home he is sleeping, that only leaves the morning.  Problem is I am not a morning person so I don’t have a lot of time between the time I get up and the time I get in the car to go to work.  I do have a 30 minute commute but in the past I could not call him because my cell phone does not have international calling turned on and if I did it would cost too much to use it (over $1 per minute to Serbia).

The Voxox Call iPhone app has helped me solve this problem.  I open the app, click on Contacts, then his name. After a couple of seconds, Voxox calls me back with my dad on the line. I get inbound calls free with my mobile carrier, so all I pay is Voxox's reasonable international rates. (I pay approximately $.08 per minute to the call out to my dad's landline and another penny per minute for Voxox to call my U.S. mobile back. Voxox actually bridges the two calls for a cheap cumulative $.09 per minute rate.)


So, on my way to work I can catch up with my dad. And save on my phone bill with cheap international calls. What will they think of next?
