Good News About Calling India: Super-cheap & Free International Calls

An economy lesson — NOT

When it comes to the global economy, I don’t have the foggiest clue what I’m talking about. I watch the people who do know — economists, pundits, newscasters — and when they get happy, I get happy. If they get nervous, I get nervous, even though I may not know why. I only know a little more than nothing about personal economy. I snip coupons, look for restaurant specials (happy hour ones in particular), sign up for apps that give me discounts and join email lists to be notified of deals on my favorite web sites.

The Treasure In Your Voxox Mobile App Settings

Posted by Ian LeWinter on Mar 12, 2015

It was like finding hidden treasure. Okay, maybe not quite as lucrative but every bit as exciting. I was buzzing around my Voxox mobile app when I happened to notice the Settings tab. I usually go straight to the Messages tab, since that’s where all the action is — voicemail, text messages, faxes, image sharing, location sharing, et cetera — and I never really took a close look at Settings since signing up with Voxox. This is an area that’s definitely worth exploring.

The Mobile Apps Drain

Posted by Ian LeWinter on Mar 05, 2015

All those apps

I was getting thoroughly irritated. Whenever I tried to take a photo with my mobile phone, I got the following message:

Storage Almost Full
You can manage your storage in Settings.

Every. Single. Time. By the time I opened Settings, discovered I didn’t know what to do there, then went to my photos, deleted 50 or 100 of those, then back to my camera, the moment was long gone. (None of this made any difference, by the way. As soon as I went to take a photo, I got the Storage Almost Full warning again. Garrrr!)

Free Calls And A Bigger House

Posted by Ian LeWinter on Feb 26, 2015

What if you were offered a bigger house for free? Would you take it? Of course you would! Even if you were perfectly happy with your current place, you could always use more space, another bathroom and perhaps even a better location.

Take A Whirlwind Trip Around Your Free Calling App

Posted by Ian LeWinter on Feb 19, 2015

Traveling is an adventure. However, we all have our own definition of what an adventure entails. I like reclining poolside, sipping on the daily drink special, rather than venturing forth and doing something athletic, like kayaking or hiking, for example. In fact, I tried kayaking once, with disastrous results. But that’s another story for another time.

Worldwide Free Calling: The Communications Singularity Is Happening Now

Posted by Ian LeWinter on Feb 12, 2015

When I was a kid growing up in Southern California, there were predictions of an earthquake along the San Andreas Fault that would cause the entire west coast of the state to break away from the continent and fall into the ocean. I laugh at this now but at the time I was pretty scared.

Five Ways to Say I Love You When You Sign Up With Voxox

Posted by Ian LeWinter on Feb 05, 2015

Believe it or not, there are ways to say “I love you” without spending a penny! And oftentimes, they are better than expensive gifts — just don’t tell my honey I said that. Some of the best gifts I’ve ever received have been ones that cost the giver virtually nothing. A love note, a picture, a specially made origami swan — these are gifts you keep forever. Think about all the gifts you get from a dog. No, I’m not talking about that! I mean the unconditional love, the greeting at the end of the day, the snuggles just when you need them (and sometimes when you don’t). Usually a dog doesn’t have money, but the gifts they give are priceless!

Anatomy of a Free Phone Call

Posted by Ian LeWinter on Jan 29, 2015

If you’re a Voxox user, you’ve been making free phone calls. But have you ever wondered how Voxox can provide such a valuable service at no cost? When you use a traditional phone service, you can imagine little electrons of your voice being carried up a telephone pole, over some wires and then down another telephone pole to the person at the other end.

Four Mistakes to Avoid When You Sign Up for Mobile Services

Posted by Ian LeWinter on Jan 22, 2015

Face it. People make mistakes. In restaurants: “You mean you ordered the grilled scallop risotto and NOT the scalloped potatoes?” At home: “Oops, I thought that bag was for Goodwill.” Many mistakes are annoying but fixable. When you sign up for a contract with a mobile service provider, it may not be so easy.
