Posted by Tristan Barnum on Mar 29, 2011

We've just released a new Voxox build (2.5.2) with a number of usability improvements -- 80+ to be specific. You'll notice the enhancements are in areas of stability, client responsiveness, connectivity, and general user experience. Also, some UI controls may smell like bacon and/or your favorite vegetable, based on dietary preference.

Experience it for yourself...

P.S. For those of you who reported a Facebook chat issue, this was a result of a recent change that Facebook made to their platform, and it has now been addressed with this latest build.

If you’ve ever hosted a holiday party, you know it can be a madhouse. Guests call you last minute about all sorts of stuff, like asking for directions, what to bring, where to park, and so on. You want to be available to them, but whether you’re running party errands or running around the house in preparation, you don’t want to think about which phone might be ringing and where. Now, wouldn’t it be nice if the phone could just find YOU?

Mom Deserves the Best! Five Ways to Wish Mom a Happy Mother's Day

Posted by Tristan Barnum on May 07, 2010

Most moms “get” technology these days. While they prefer a good old fashioned greeting card, they’re just happy to hear from their babies, any way that communication comes. A lot of moms, young and old, are now up to date with the Internet – my mom is almost 75 and uses email regularly.

Sending mom a link to Voxox will give her even more access to keep in touch with you on a regular basis. When she sees all the possible ways you can send her your love, it will make her day. So, why not start with Mother’s Day?

Here are five ways you can wish her a Happy Mother’s Day via Voxox:

1.    Call her on-the-cheap

My mom’s in Canada and she thinks I spend big bucks on phone bills (makes her love me even more). What she doesn’t know is that it costs 1 penny per minute to call Canada from Voxox!   Plus, when you sign up for Voxox in the U.S. or Canada, the first $1 worth of Voxox credit is on us*, so you can call a bunch of places worldwide for super cheap

AT&T embraces VoIP - just a PR thing?

Posted by Tristan Barnum on Oct 13, 2009

Last week, AT&T embraced cellular VoIP, clearing the way for Internet-based voice services like Skype, Google Voice and Voxox to be used on the iPhone.

This looks to be on the heels of moves that Verizon has made with respect to Android phones that “opened" their network. AT&T had to emulate this in some way because of increasing regulatory pressure and their controversial positioning against Google Voice for blocking certain destinations with their calling service. AT&T is likely realizing that customer loyalty is more important than specific revenue streams, and there are two forces working in AT&T’s favor by being open:

A Day in the Life of a Millennial

Posted by Tristan Barnum on Mar 01, 2009

Some of the most connected people out there are Millennials – usually defined as people born between 1978 and 2000 (about 76 million people, depending on where you look). They’re young, they’re hip, and they’re plugged in everywhere they go, even when they’re unplugged.

The problem is, this is also the first generation that will suffer from communication overload. Here are a few interesting stats:
