The past year has been an exciting time for us here at Voxox and now we're planning to grow our team in 2013! Our tight-knit, synergistic team of tech-industry rock stars have high expectations regarding where we are taking the company and since Voxox users are tech savvy, innovative and adopters of cutting edge technology, we thought we'd let you know we have a few positions to fill.

Big news -- we just announced that our company has raised $5.3 million to support growth for Voxox and Voxox In Business global initiatives, particularly in the mobile sphere. This funding is a result of the company's agreement with investment banking advisory firm, Pepperwood Partners, which is assisting us in this first institutional round. (Previously, the company was funded by angel and family office investors.)

Hot off the presses! We've just announced an update to our free mobile app, Voxox Call for iPhone.  The new mobile app release provides iPhone users with the option to make high quality VoIP calls over 3G, 4G, LTE, and Wi-Fi networks, as well as an option to use the app’s original callback feature, Voxox Call Connect, when the data connection is poor or inconsistent to make calls worldwide. The new version of the app also comes with a variety of performance and usability enhancements related to quality of its telephony features, app design and user experience.

Can you believe it's already 2013? We made it through the Apocalypse and are here to usher in a whole new year of gadgets and gizmos. We can't be sure what techy toys the new year has to offer, but let's take a look back at some of 2012's highlights. We survived Y2K back in 2000, and now, 12 years later, our existence faces another doomsday catastrophe -- the end of the Mayan Calendar! According to some superstitious believers, tomorrow, December 21st, marks the end of the world as  predicted by the Mayans over 5,000 years ago. Despite lack of evidence for this prophecy, and as disproved this week by NASA, scenarios suggested for the end of the world include the arrival of the next solar maximum, an interaction between Earth and the black hole at the center of the galaxy, the alignment of the planets and Earth's collision with a planet called "Nibiru".

2012 has been a rather important year for social media and the mobile industry. Not only have some of this year's milestone events like the Summer Olympics and the Presidential Election broken social networking records, but we have also seen a growing acceptance of social media by both businesses and individuals. Plus, as we have become more reliant on smartphones, mobile technologies have continued to evolve, reinventing the way we use portable tech -- the release of the iPhone 5 and cheap mobile calls via the Voxox Call iPhone app, to name a few!

Thanksgiving, one of the most delicious holidays known to man (or at least we think so!), is right around the corner and you know what that means... turkey, pie, potatoes and of course, leftovers! Although here at Voxox we love anything to do with eating, we also know Thanksgiving is about more than just the treats -- it's about celebrating all that we're thankful for!

It's nearly 7pm and you've got to head out the door to catch the last commuter train home, but you're still on an important business call. Talk about bad timing because you definitely can't afford to drop this call. Now with less than 10 minutes before the train is scheduled to reel off towards uptown, you're about to panic -- not another night on the employee lounge couch! What did we do with "dumb" cellular phones before the introduction of our beloved smartphones and apps? We talked, texted and played Snake, that's what. But with all the fancy phones, tablets and millions of addicting and useful apps on the market today, could you blame us for being a little app crazy? While some more app-dependant techies have hundreds of apps ranging from games to fitness apps to simple notebooks, the  average smartphone user has 65 apps installed on their phones, but only uses 15 of them per week -- we hope Voxox Call for iPhone is one of them!
