The Secret to the Best Messaging App For Android: Beta Testers

Posted by Tristan Barnum on Aug 14, 2013

Frankly, I'm tired of it. I'm tired of people hearing what I do, excitedly pull out their phones to download Voxox and...they have an Android phone and all the wind goes out of my sails. :/

Well, not anymore!

best messaging app for android

We've been working on an Android app for, I don't know, forever? But our mobile app is only available today on iPhone.

We've quietly rolled out a completely overhauled Voxox for iPhone in June and now we're excruciatingly close to making Voxox for Android available. But there's one last hitch- we'd like it to be the best messaging app for Android out there, and that's where you come in- we need beta testers!

The more devices, countries, carriers, the better

This is a huge project, and it's been in the works for quite some time, so we want to make sure we test, test, test! Android development is especially challenging because of the incredible variety of devices available out there running the OS, add in the complexities posed by "simple" communication, like calling and texting, across international lines on carriers around the world, and we know we're in for quite a hairy task. We don't want it to just work, we want to build the best messaging app for Android in the world.

So no matter where you are, or which Android device you have, if you're willing to help, we'd love to have you.

Love to talk, love to text

Being interested in seeing Voxox for Android (thousands of you voted for it in our community site) is not enough to be a beta tester. In order for us to release the best messaging app for Android, we need you to LOVE to communicate. Voxox for Android supports messaging through SMS to any of your contacts, free chat/instant messaging to any of your friends on Voxox, and quite a bit more. It's going to be important not just to download the app, but to use it. We'll never crush the bugs we can't see, and figuring out what's going to go wrong on a Nexus One in Cambodia is going to be tough to do from San Diego.

We're trying to make the process of signing up to be a beta user as painless as possible. Here's a link to the sign up form to get you started. Once you've signed up you'll receive a standard NDA (oh, lawyers...) to sign and return.

I hope to see you in the Voxox for Android beta!
