Voxox Partners With Emida To Provide Users With Mobile Payment Options

Posted by Aimee Eucce on Dec 18, 2013

More than 2.5 billion people around the world don’t have a bank account and half of adults in the West (and 93% worldwide!) don’t have credit cards. Yesterday, Voxox announced a strategic partnership with mobile payments company Emida that will make it possible for the “unbanked” population to top up on calling, texting, faxing without the need for a bank account or credit card. The partnership makes Voxox available throughout Emida's distribution network of 54,000 retails points -- self-service kiosks and retail convenience stores worldwide. Emida will process and manage account refill transactions and mobile wallet payments from customers who prepay for the use of Voxox, offering an alternative to the traditional method of payment via credit card. The addition of this new payment practice extends Voxox’s reach to parts of the world where credit cards are not ubiquitous.

Neither of us could afford to rack up data charges with our current phone plan, so we both downloaded the Voxox app. The following are the features I used the most while traveling.
