More than 2.5 billion people around the world don’t have a bank account and half of adults in the West (and 93% worldwide!) don’t have credit cards. Yesterday, Voxox announced a strategic partnership with mobile payments company Emida that will make it possible for the “unbanked” population to top up on calling, texting, faxing without the need for a bank account or credit card. The partnership makes Voxox available throughout Emida's distribution network of 54,000 retails points -- self-service kiosks and retail convenience stores worldwide. Emida will process and manage account refill transactions and mobile wallet payments from customers who prepay for the use of Voxox, offering an alternative to the traditional method of payment via credit card. The addition of this new payment practice extends Voxox’s reach to parts of the world where credit cards are not ubiquitous.

Donald Rumsfeld said, “There are things we don't know we don't know”. How true this is. For me, I’ve lived life peacefully oblivious to all of the calling options that could be at my fingertips. The problem was I didn’t know what I didn’t know. It all changed when I got my hands on the Voxox App and started exploring. Only then did I realize what I had been missing. These are the five calling app features that I cannot live without. Reader beware and continue at your own risk… you will not be able to go back to life before these Voxox features. They will most certainly become the five features you can’t live without. The following is a true story of Voxox in the wild.

Way back around 15 B.C. (before cellphones), a considerable amount of advance coordination and subsequent cooperation were involved in meeting up with friends, checking in with parents and finding a meeting place. Landmarks, clocks and precision timing were all employed for a smooth rendezvous. Trust was also a large factor. When someone said, “Be here at such-and-such a time,” it was usually guesswork as to whether this would be adhered to.
