If you want something to be known by everyone, just tell my sister. She can’t keep a secret. This can work to my advantage or disadvantage. If there’s a surprise party being planned, I can usually winkle it out of her. If I need her help with surprising someone, beware! In any surprise-planning situation, there’s a 50-50 chance of an information leak. If there is a leak, there’s a 95% chance it was my sister.

A Brief History Lesson

Remember Watergate? In case you’re not over 50 or knowledgeable in mid-twentieth century history, here’s the encapsulated version. In the early seventies, as part of an illegal “intelligence gathering” operation, top Nixon officials ordered burglary and phone tapping at the DNC Headquarters in the Watergate hotel complex. The cover-up that ensued rocked the political landscape, resulting in multiple convictions along with the first and only resignation of a U.S. president to date.

I live in southern California. Our friend Mark lives in the Bay Area. He tours vineyards in Napa Valley, Europe and New Zealand. I know this because he loves to digitally share his adventures with his friends: photos of his journeys, bottles he’s tasted and the sheer beauty of wherever he happens to be. The locations are wonderful. The photos and videos are breathtaking.

Despite the challenges inherent in running a business of five or fewer employees, the majority of these microbusiness owners are quite content with how they make a living. In fact, a new survey conducted by

Club and Gallup found that 69 percent of the 868 entrepreneurs asked said that owning a business is their ideal job. Considering the U.S. is home to more than 25 million microbusinesses, it seems there are a lot of people living the dream, many of them using a cloud communications solution.

My best friend is on Sprint. My brother’s got Verizon. I don’t even know what carrier service my mom uses. In-network free calling isn’t anything new but if your peeps are anything like mine, there is no “in-network.” Believe me, I’ve begged to get them to switch to AT&T, pleading the free in-network calls case, but the general response is, “Why should I be the one to switch?” Admittedly, changing carriers is a pretty big hassle. Net result: I was spending a small fortune just keeping in touch.
